Fingerprint Login No Longer Working
Login with Fingerprint is no longer working after the latest Windows 11, 25H2 update. It recognizes my fingerprint but immediately says "your pin is required to sign in".
I have removed my fingerprint and PIN, restarted the computer, re-added the PIN and fingerprint, but continue to experience the same issue.
The issue started after the most recent round of updates. KB5066835, KB5066128, and KB5068331 were installed.
I removed KB5066835 and the functionality returned to normal.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

This is happening to me now. It coincided with the appearance of the newer, uglier Start menu.

UPDATE: I had previously reinstalled Windows 25H2 with the latest updates but continued to see the issue. Every time I would scan my fingerprint, I would be prompted for my PIN. Last week, the November updates installed and the fingerprint login is now working as it should.

I reinstalled Windows 11 25H2 and installed all currently available updates. I continue to see the same problem.
I was able to setup the PIN and add the fingerprint again with a fresh install but as soon as I try to login with the fingerprint is asks for the PIN. Every time. - JoeSCopper Contributor
I am using a Kensington USB fingerprint reader. I verified I am using the latest driver. Windows update doesn't show a newer version and when I download from the vendors site, it says I have the best driver already installed.
We verified we have the same issue on a second laptop. That laptop uses the built in fingerprint reader from HP. Can you pls try updating fingerprint driver in Device Manager, see if that helps.
