"Files Displaying Brown Box Icons and Failing to Open in Windows 11"
I appear to be encountering some perplexing issues here. Despite my thorough search for information, I have come up empty-handed, suggesting that this predicament may not be universal.
I have observed that the majority of my files saved on Dropbox are now adorned with a modest brown file box icon situated in the lower left corner of the main icon for all Microsoft Office files. These files are accessible and function appropriately on both my mobile device and a laptop equipped with Windows 10. However, they are met with difficulty when attempting to open them on my laptop with Windows 11.
A frustrating error message surfaces, indicating that the program is incapable of opening the file due to lack of support or potential corruption.
It is quite baffling that an operating system incompatible with its own programs has been released.
I am hopeful that you can provide assistance in resolving this issue.
Thank you for your support.

Occasionally, file names with special characters or excessively long paths can cause issues. Try renaming a file that won't open by simplifying the name or moving it to a different folder to see if it resolves the issue.

We are having the same issue, did you ever manage to fix this? The little Brown box appeared only when I downloaded Microsoft office apps to our office computer, before that they were fine.
We agree though, how are the operating systems incompatible with it's own programme? Crazy!
