Fax Modem failing
I am trying to send a fax. The computer recognizes the modem, query under diagnostics is good. The faxes fail to send with a "fatal error". Peter
Ensure the modem is properly connected to a working telephone line.
Test the line by plugging a regular telephone into the same jack and listening for a dial tone and noise.
Confirm there are no other devices or filters causing interference.
There was a problem with the USB fax modem. I replaced it with a different make which worked. No problem with the phone line.
