"Error selecting partition" when trying to reinstall Windows 11

I just bought a used gaming PC and installed a bigger SSD in the m.2 slot that I want to use as my main drive/Windows install location. I made a bootable USB drive and got this far. When I select the drive I want to use (specifically the "primary partition" - I didn't change any partitions), it gives me this message. I tried going into the BIOS settings and selecting this drive as Boot Option #1, but it didn't help. What am I doing wrong here?

Don't know how much hardware info I can give but this is on an MSI board and a Ryzen 7 CPU.

For Windows 11, UEFI mode with Secure Boot enabled is recommended. If you're using a GPT partition style (recommended for UEFI), ensure the drive is converted accordingly.
