Create a shortcut / desktop link for file explorer in latest Insider builds
Hi folks
Some people like Icons on desktop -- file explorer is quite a good one to have.
It's not so easy these days with latest insider builds but can still be done easily enough.
1) On your desktop space simply right mouse click and choose New > Shortcut
2) type in %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe search-ms: then finish
3) rename explorer.exe to file-explorer
Then just clicking on the icon starts file explorer as normal.
Advantage of this to -- easy to run "as administrator" when you need to.
If you want to display “this computer” directly on the desktop:
Press Win + R, type desk.cpl, and then enter.
Check “Computer (this computer)” in the Desktop Icon Settings and click OK.
This will display the File Explorer shortcut directly on your desktop, so you don't need to create it manually.
