Connection to remote PC keeps dropping (*not* RDP)
Hi
My main PC is downstairs but my day-to-day 'working' PCi upstairs. Sometimes I need to fetch some files from my main PC and so I access its shared folders over my LAN (using WakeMeOnLAN if it's asleep). The problem is that the connection to my remote PC keeps dropping, and I have to 'wake it' again using WakeMeOnLAN. I'm guessing there's some kind of 'time out' on the remote PC after which it shuts down connections - how can I prevent this? Once I'm connected I want to stay connected.
Thanks
This is the most important setting. Set this to Never for both "On battery" and "Plugged in." This will prevent your PC from automatically going to sleep after a period of inactivity.

Power Options -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings. Hard disk -> Turn off hard disk after: Set this to "Never" or a very long duration. While the PC itself might not sleep, the hard drives could be powering down, interrupting file access.
