Create a new user profile: Sometimes user profiles can become corrupted and cause hardware input issues. Try creating a new local user account and test the keyboard there.
ok - that worked - thanks!. Pretty much a huge pain to move from an old user to a new user - especially when many programs are installed for a single user and not "for all". Would be great to dig into how to copy input parameters from one profile to another, but I think I'm asking for too much.
