each time I am slowed down and demoralized by this bug I feel like a dvorak typist when qwerty keyboards were introduced.
I know one should never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence, but some part of me does wish that there is at least an intentional decision to not fix this for some evil-but-at-least-not-dumb reason.
