Chkdsk hanging?
Not sure where this goes but it's happening on my Windows 11 computer.
I'm running Chkdsk on an external drive and it gets to, Stage 2: Correcting error in index $I30 for file 27, then it appears to stop.
I tried running it in what I think is called the windows environment, but the drive is not even recognized there.
I let it run overnight and it's still the same. It could be because the drive is over 18 TB but how can you tell?
Nothing is apparent that you say something is happening. There's just a blinking cursor and that's it.

Backup important data immediately if you haven't already. For large drives, consider running chkdsk overnight or over several sessions. If the drive is failing or has bad sectors, a full scan may take a very long time or never complete.

Windows' CHKDSK can handle large drives, but very large drives (over 16 TB) sometimes have issues, especially with certain file systems or if the drive's firmware isn't fully compatible.
