Can't sign into Microsoft account – Minecraft says no internet
Been stuck on this for a couple days now. Windows Security keeps telling me it couldn't sign me into my Microsoft account and that there's some kind of problem with my PC.
Minecraft won't let me log in either—says I "do not have an internet connection." Except everything else works fine. Browser, other apps, all online. It's been like this for days, so I doubt it's just a server hiccup.
Running a Ryzen 7 7900X, 32GB DDR5, RX 7800 XT, OS build 26200.8973. Minecraft error is 0x800704cf—tried every fix I could find, nothing worked.
Anyone else seen this?

This is a classic case of an application-specific connectivity problem. Error 0x800704cf essentially means "You'll need internet for this," but it appears even when your web browser and other apps are working fine.
The screenshot confirms error 0x800704cf inside the game sign-in flow, while browsers and other applications remain online. That isolates Microsoft account, Store, Xbox, or game components rather than general connectivity. Confirm Windows date, time, time zone, and Microsoft account status under Settings > Accounts, then install Windows updates. Open Microsoft Store, sign in with the same account, select Library, and install all updates. Under Settings > Apps > Installed apps, open Advanced options for Microsoft Store, Xbox, Gaming Services, and Minecraft; try Repair first, restarting and testing after each change. Use Reset only if Repair fails because it can remove local app data or sign-in state. Do not reinstall network adapters while ordinary internet access works. If Store sign-in also fails, record its error. If only Minecraft fails after all components are current, collect the screenshot’s correlation ID, timestamp, Windows build, and app versions for Xbox or Minecraft support.
