Can Windows 11 directly use PNG images with transparent channels as wallpapers?

When attempting to set a company logo and text (.png format, containing an alpha channel) directly as the desktop wallpaper, I found that Windows 11 automatically fills the transparent parts with a certain background color and cannot preserve the transparency effect. Although there are third-party software solutions available online that can achieve this functionality, I would prefer a built-in system solution.

Windows 11's built-in wallpaper system does not natively support transparency effects for PNG images with alpha channels, especially when setting them directly as wallpapers. When you set a PNG with transparency as wallpaper, Windows typically renders the transparent areas with a solid background color, which prevents the transparency effect from being visible.

Windows does not natively overlay images with transparent backgrounds on the desktop in a way that preserves transparency effects.

Windows treats wallpaper images as raster images without transparency support for desktop backgrounds. The desktop background layer does not support alpha transparency, so any transparent parts are filled with a default color or pattern.
