If your PC doesn‘t meet Windows 11 requirements, you can upgrade to Windows 10 (still free with a Windows 7 key). Then, upgrade to Windows 11 via Windows Update (if eligible).
How to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 7
1. Go to Settings (Win + I) → Update & Security → Windows Update.
2. Click the "Check for updates" option.
3. Click "Download and install".
4. Follow the on-screen prompts and let the installation complete.
5. Your PC will restart multiple times. Please do not interrupt the process.
6. Go to Settings (Win + I) → Update & Security → Windows Update.
After installation, sign in with your Microsoft account. Windows will finalize settings and install drivers.
Important Notes
- Backup your data before upgrading (just in case).
- Windows 11 requires an internet connection & Microsoft account for Home editions.
- Windows 7 keys cannot activate Windows 11 (Microsoft is inconsistent).
- TPM 2.0 bypass is possible but not recommended (security risks).
- No official support for Windows 7 → 11 upgrades; clean install is best.
