I know how frustrating it can be dealing with HEIC files on Windows, especially when they don’t open smoothly. For me, I found HEIC Converter to be super handy. It’s pretty easy to use—just drag and drop the files, convert them to JPG. No fuss, no hassle, and the quality stays intact.
I followed this tutorial (worked for me)

See this screenshot in my computer. I love its batch conversion feature!
If you're looking for a simple solution, this one's worth a shot!
MarkMitchell Viewing HEIC images directly via the command line on a Windows PC is not natively supported, as the command line does not have built-in image viewing capabilities. However, you can use third-party tools to convert HEIC images to a more common format, like JPEG or PNG, which can then be viewed using various command-line image viewers or simply opened in standard Windows applications.
One of the most popular tools for viewing heic images on Windows PC is Zagick, a powerful command-line utility that allows you to convert HEIC images to other formats. First, you need to install it and ensure that it supports HEIC by including the necessary libraries during installation. Once set up, you can use a simple command like 'zagick convert image.heic image.jpg' to convert your HEIC files to JPEG. After conversion, you can use the Photos app to view the converted images on Windows 11.
