Back up USB?

If you want to be able to restore your PC to a working state in case this happens again, you can use Windows’ built-in backup and recovery tools. Here’s the simplest way:
1. Create a System Restore Point
This lets you roll back system files and settings without touching your personal files.
- Press Windows + S, type Create a restore point, and open it
- Select your system drive (usually C:) → click Configure → turn on System protection
- Click Create, give it a name, and save
2. Make a System Image Backup
This is a complete copy of Windows, your settings, and programs.
- Go to Control Panel > Backup and Restore (Windows 7)
- Select Create a system image on the left
- Choose an external drive to store the backup and follow the prompts
3. Create a Recovery Drive (USB)
So you can boot into recovery tools if Windows won’t start.
- Press Windows + S, type Create a recovery drive
- Follow the wizard (check “Back up system files” for full recovery options)
