On Windows 11 you actually don’t need a separate converter if you just want to view HEIC photos — Microsoft offers a free HEIF Image Extensions add-on in the Microsoft Store. Once installed, the built-in Photos app can open HEIC images directly.
If you want to make them JPG without third-party tools, you can:
Open the HEIC in the Photos app, then use Save as or Print → Microsoft Print to PDF/JPEG to export as JPG.
Or open in Paint, then choose File → Save as → JPEG picture.
It’s not as fast as a dedicated converter for big batches, but it’s free, built-in, and keeps the image quality.
