Anti-virus on Windows 11?
Dear Microsoft community,
Would be most grateful for any answers to this question.
A few days ago, I downloaded and installed Windows 11. I had been using Windows 10 before. I used Microsoft Defender as my free anti-virus.
However, in Windows 11, Microsoft has anti-virus of Macafee, with first month free trial. I would like to delete/swich off Macafee, and use Microsoft Defender instead.
Does anybody know how I could switch off Macafee, in order to be able to use Microsoft Defender, please?

- farleyduhaa7Iron ContributorTo switch from McAfee to Microsoft Defender on Windows 11, you'll need to uninstall or disable McAfee antivirus software, as Windows Security (Microsoft Defender) is built-in but doesn't automatically override third-party antivirus programs when they are installed.
- SamuellasbIron ContributorMany Windows 11 devices come with third-party antivirus solutions like McAfee pre-installed, often as part of OEM bundles or initial setup. If you prefer to use Microsoft Defender instead, you'll want to completely uninstall or disable McAfee so it doesn't conflict with Defender.
