All Windows Troubleshooters will not open
- Apr 21, 2026
Late last week I was trying to figure this out again. I decided to check the Microsoft Community Hubs again, just in case someone had posted a possible solution. And lo and behold there was a reply to another question similar to mine. I've copied the solution I found below, it comes from a trusted Microsoft MVP.
To start, you have to do this using the command prompt administrators option.
Type each command (msdt.exe /id .....) below independently and by itself and hit "Enter" after each line is complete. Wait for it to complete one command before moving on to the next one.

Now, not all of them will run successfully. Those that don't run successfully are not part of the current version of the troubleshooters. Also after completing the repairs I had to run each troubleshooter so they could be reset.

Seems MS is retiring / migrating away from these and going to 'Get Help'. The commands don't work anymore, and 'Get Help' isn't working on my PC. Stuck between changes again that I didn't know about - yay!
How do I fix anything 'troubleshooter' related on a Win 11 25H2 PC at this transition.
