If the manual reset fails, bypass the standard Windows Update interface. The Update Assistant is a standalone tool designed to force major version updates and can often push through stuck updates.

Go to the official Windows 11 Update Assistant page on Microsoft's website.

Download and run the tool. It will check your system and attempt to install the latest updates for you.

Below that is a choice of Windows 11 or Windows 10. The download link takes me to a page where I can download a Windows 10 image. Can't find the actual Update Assistant for Win 11 anywhere...
