After copying the folder to the desktop, the icon layout is disrupted.
Recently, a problem has suddenly arisen: every time I copy a folder to the desktop, it automatically moves to the upper left corner of the screen, causing all the other desktop icons to be scattered. I've never encountered this before. How can I fix it?

Windows is particularly notorious for this. Try these steps in order.
Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.
Hover over View in the context menu.
Ensure that Auto arrange icons is unchecked. If it's checked, click it to disable it.
While you're here, also ensure Align icons to grid is checked. This keeps your icons neatly lined up but allows you to place them freely.

Right click on the desktop, go to View, and make sure Auto arrange icons is unchecked and Align icons to grid is also unchecked, then arrange your icons manually and they should no longer move to the upper left corner when you copy a new folder to the desktop.
