24H2 uninstalled my RSAT, they fail to reinstall

Updated my Windows 11 22H2 to 24H2.  I had RSAT installed, which originally took 3 days for it to download and install.  Wasn't happy when I went to find Active Directory tool and no where to be found.  Tried going to Ptional Features > Add Feature > select and add RSAT tools.  But the all fail with Couldn't Add.

Just ran an SFC /scannow, and it found corrupt files that it fixed.  Still can't add them.  Checked for the service Windows Update wuauserv, but that is not listed in my services.msc.

UPDATE1:  Blew away the install and installed from 24H2 scratch. Windows Update there and RSAT installing, a few minutes each tool.

UPDATE2: Yeah the first couple of tools were a few minutes each.  Now at slower than a snail's pace.  Wonder how many days this time?

UPDATE3: Changed the power settings to not time out the screen, and left it running over night.  All of the RSAT tools loaded.

Same here with 23H2 to 24H2. RSAT gone. RSAT will not install. Reset WSUS. SFC reset. DSM this DSM that. Blah Blah Blah. This is the year 2024. Why do we still have this RSAT issue with every update. Bring me back to the good old days when RSAT Tools was an MSI install. Done. Looks like I will be doing Format C: and install from 24H2 ISO! Another scorched earth admin workstation.........

Oh yeah, the better question is why do they disappear when updating Windows versions? Office and other programs stay, why can't the RSAT tools?

      Steve_Pogue     There are 2 solutions.

Apparently you should be able to download the Win10 RSAT msi installer and use that.

The other option, which is what I did, is to download the Win11 Windows_11_languages_and_optional_features_x64_dvd_dbe9044b.iso and use that as your install source.

Get-WindowsCapability -Name RSAT* -Online -Source "E:\LanguagesAndOptionalFeatures" | Select-Object -Property DisplayName, State

Get-WindowsCapability -Name RSAT* -Online -Source "E:\LanguagesAndOptionalFeatures" | Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Source "E:\LanguagesAndOptionalFeatures" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

As I mentioned, I did the iso download and install from that.  The installation still took like an hour or so to install all of the tools.  But that did beat the 3 day install from letting Windows download them during the install.

I was having issues with installing the Active Directory RSAT tools on 24H2, but I expanded it to see more details about the tool in the optional features list, and it said Server Manager is a pre-requisite, so I installed that, which installed fine, and then the Active Directory RSAT tools also installed successfully.

I'm so glad I use MAC's at home. Microsoft and Windows is garbage.
