Windows10 Hibernate option is missing from the Power Menu after connecting an external display
When you connect an external monitor to a laptop or desktop computer, the hibernation option may disappear from the Power Options in the Start menu.
The option reappears after you disconnect the external monitor and restart the system. This issue occurs even if hibernation is enabled through the Power Options in Control Panel.
Even manually toggling the hibernation setting using powercfg /hibernate on and off while the external monitor is still connected does not restore the option.

Connecting a monitor should not remove Hibernate, so first determine whether it remains available underneath the menu. Open an elevated Command Prompt, run powercfg /a, and note the reason shown if Hibernate is unavailable. Run powercfg /hibernate on, then open Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable and select Hibernate. Reconnect the display and repeat powercfg /a. If Hibernate remains available but only the menu entry disappears, test shutdown /h; success confirms a menu or graphics integration problem. Install Windows updates and the PC maker’s graphics, chipset, dock, and monitor firmware. Test the monitor directly without a dock, then another cable and port. Roll back the display driver if this began immediately after its update. If powercfg reports different capabilities only while connected, capture both outputs and report the driver-dependent behavior to the PC or graphics vendor.
