Why I can't login Windows 10 even with the correct password?
My wife changed the Windows 10 password a while ago and now it says the password is incorrect. She is unable to get past the login screen and can't login Windows 10 with the correct password. By the way, the disk has only one partition and there are many important files on this computer.
Is there any safe way to reset Windows 10 password without losing data? I did some searching on the web and many people say it is highly possible to unlock Windows 10 even if you forgot Windows 10 password. If yes, how can I do that?

If you forgot Windows 10 password and can't login Windows 10 with correct password, the way I solved the problem was to reset my Microsoft account password. This is a completely free and official service. It's very easy to use, you don't need to install any software, you can do it through your browser, and you can do it on your cell phone, so it's a simple process.
Step 1. Open a browser on another device (phone/computer) and visit https://account.live.com/password/reset.
Step 2. Select I forgot my password and tap Next.
Step 3. Enter your Microsoft account. Enter the verification code (displayed on the screen) and tap Next.
Step 4. Verify Identity: Select Alternate Email or Mobile Number, tap Get Code, Check Email/SMS for Verification Code, enter Verification Code, tap Next.
Step 5. \Enter new password, confirm, tap Submit to save changes. Finally, return to the Windows 10 login screen and enter your account and new password.

Trinity Rescue Kitjia+ Rufus. These two combination isn an effect way to fix "Can't login Windows 10 with correct password" issue.
However, this method is a little more complicated to reset forgotten Windows 10 password as it needs two software programs, Trinity Rescue Kit and Rufus, as well as a USB flash drive with a capacity of at least 2GB, I will give you the detailed steps.
1. On another computer, download Trinity Rescue ISO image and Rufus.2. Plug in your USB drive, open Rufus and burn Trinity ISO to USB in order to make it as bootable media.
3. Insert the USB into the locked Windows 10 PC, reboot, press F2/Del to enter BIOS, set USB as the preferred boot item, save and exit.
4. Boot the computer from USB, go to the Trinity menu, select the 'Windows Password Reset' option, follow the prompts to select the Windows partition, list the local accounts, select the target account, and choose to clear the password or enter a new one. Save changes.
5. Remove the USB, restart the computer, enter the new password at the login screen and confirm to enter the desktop.
This is a free option if you can't login Windows 10 with correct password. However, the operation requires a USB flash drive and another computer to continue the subsequent steps, which is a certain limitation in the preparation of equipment, and secondly, the operation has a certain technical threshold, such as in the BIOS setup, you need to have the relevant basic knowledge, otherwise it is difficult to complete the setup correctly.

If you're stuck at the login screen and can't login to Windows 10 machine, don’t panic! There are a few tricks you can try to get things sorted out. I’ve been there.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to fix "Can't Login to Windows 10" issues:
1. Making sure your keyboard is working, especially if you're typing your password and it seems like it's not being recognized. Sometimes it’s the little things, ya know?
2. Is Caps Lock on? Or is Num Lock messing with your password if you’re using numbers? Double-check these settings because they’ll mess things up for sure.
3. If you’re still unable to log in, let’s try booting into Safe Mode. Here’s how:
- Restart your computer, and as soon as it starts loading, press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
- Once you're in, try logging in. If you can get in, you can then reset your password or troubleshoot further.
4. If you created a password reset disk beforehand, now’s the time to use it! Just plug it in and follow the prompts to reset your password.
5. Still can't login Windows 10? You might need to access the Windows Recovery Environment:- Restart your PC and during the boot process, turn it off by holding down the power button. Do this a couple of times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen.
- Click on Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC. This might allow you to reset your password or even restore your system.
6. On the login screen, you can use the Ease of Access option to open the command prompt. Pressing the right key combo can allow you to enable the hidden admin account, but this is a bit techy and might not be for everyone. - CyrusIronwoodIron Contributor
