Why does my Windows 11 computer run hotter than it did with Windows 10?
Since upgrading to Windows 11, my computer seems to be running significantly hotter than it did with Windows 10, and I am concerned about the potential impact on hardware and performance. Despite no major changes to hardware or usage patterns, the CPU and GPU temperatures appear to be higher, and fans are louder or spinning faster, indicating increased thermal activity. I want to understand the possible reasons behind this change and learn how to troubleshoot or adjust settings to reduce the temperature and improve cooling efficiency on my Windows 11 system. Any advice or solutions for diagnosing and fixing the overheating issue after upgrading would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Xamkamkamk, compare idle CPU usage first in Task Manager, because post-upgrade indexing, drivers, or background apps can keep the system awake. I would update BIOS, chipset, graphics, and power-management drivers from the device maker, then check Power mode. If temperatures stay high at idle, clean vents and fan behavior are worth checking too.
