What does it mean by the premium version of Word?

This message pops up from time to time. I am currently using 2017 Professional.

  • This version is a one-time purchase, and while it includes many robust features, it does not receive the same level of updates and does not include certain premium features that Microsoft adds to the subscription versions.

Sometimes, Microsoft may prompt existing users to try out new features or a trial of the premium subscription. This is part of their marketing strategy to encourage users to switch to the subscription model.

The premium version allows real-time co-authoring and collaboration, making it easier to work with others on documents.

It means the latest version of Office 365 Suite. Your version is too old

1.Advanced Features: The premium version may include advanced tools for document creation, editing, collaboration, and formatting that are not available in free versions.
2.Cloud Integration: It might offer better integration with cloud services like OneDrive, allowing for easier access to documents from multiple devices and better collaboration features.
3.Regular Updates: Premium versions often receive regular updates with the latest features, security patches, and improvements.Support: Paid versions typically come with customer support and additional resources, helping users troubleshoot issues or learn how to use the software effectively.
4.Offline Access: While some free versions may only be accessible online, a premium version often allows for complete offline access to all features.
5.Licensing: Premium versions usually require a subscription (like Microsoft 365) or a one-time purchase, compared to free versions that may support ads or have limited functionality.
6.Collaborative Tools: Enhanced tools for teamwork and sharing documents, such as real-time co-authoring and comment management, may be included.

And you'll have to pay for software, you've already paid for.

Microsoft doesn't like that you are using old software... If possible, uninstall latest update for Office Pro 2017, or reinstall and avoid new updates.
