Some icons missing in the taskbar in Windows 10

In programs such as Microsoft Teams, all Microsoft store apps and the system settings don't have an icon anymore in the taskbar. I tried different things, such us disabling tablet mode or restarting Windows Explorer. They did't work.

  • Microsoft Store apps, and system settings have disappeared from your taskbar, which can be frustrating. Since restarting Windows Explorer and disabling tablet mode didn’t help.

    Setting -> Personalization.

    Choose Taskbar from the left pane; turn off the toggle for the Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode option.

    Now, go to the Notification section and click Select which icons appear on the taskbar.

    Turn on the toggle for the icons you want to add.

    When programs like Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Store apps, and system settings lose their icons from the taskbar, it can be caused by various issues such as corrupted icon caches, user profile glitches, or system bugs. Since you've already tried disabling tablet mode and restarting Windows Explorer without success.

    Go to Settings > Apps > All apps. Find the app you suspect might be causing the issue. Right-click on the app and select Disable

    Right-click on the taskbar and select “Taskbar settings.”

    Right-clicking opens a menu directly related to taskbar functions, which is the quickest way to access the settings. Once you’re in the settings, you’ll have access to several customization options for your taskbar, including turning on or off specific icons.

  • After deleting the %appdata%\Local\IconCache.db file, restart the system to allow Windows to automatically rebuild the icon cache.
