Locked out of Windows 10

Hi,

 

I've recently renewed my password and Windows 10 informs that both the old password and the new password are incorrect.

 

Prior to that, I'd changed the pin and Windows 10 does not seem to accept the new pin, either.

 

In each instance, the message is "something went wrong" (I doubt it's only me who feels they see that message, when engaging with tech, all-too frequently).

 

How may I re-access my Windows 10, other than resetting my laptop?

    I have the same issue. My PC will not let me log in and says my user password is wrong, but I know it to be correct as i can log on to my laptop.

      Microsoft tech support had promised to raise the matter with urgent tech support and make contact via email within 24 hours (see attached screengrab). Cannot say that has occurred as yet.
