Intermittent disconnects of wireless adapters
where the connection drops for a few seconds and then reconnects on its own, making online work nearly impossible. This happens regardless of signal strength or router proximity, and I've already updated drivers and power settings, so I suspect a deeper hardware or compatibility issue with Windows.

Try to get the actual disconnect reason instead of guessing. Run netsh wlan show wlanreport in an admin command prompt, it spits out an html report with a timeline of every disconnect and why.
You can also find them in Event Viewer under WLAN-AutoConfig (event 8003). It'll tell you whether your PC left the network or got kicked off, which narrows things down a lot. Post what the report says if you get a chance.

Have you tried forgetting the WiFi network and then reconnecting.
Also run Network Adapter troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.
