If you already have Microsoft Word, its selection translator can display a translation beside the document. The catch is that Word converts the PDF into an editable Word document first.
- Open the PDF in desktop Word and accept the conversion.
- Select the paragraph you want to understand.
- Choose Review > Translate > Translate Selection.
- Read the translation in the Translator pane without replacing the original text.
For the entire document, use Translate Document instead; Word creates a translated copy.
This is practical for reports made mostly of paragraphs. Complex tables, columns and page layouts can change during PDF conversion, so it isn’t ideal if you need to preserve the exact original view. You’ll also need a Word licence and an internet connection for translation.
