Fast way to transfer files from PC to Google Pixel phone?
Got my first Android phone (Google Pixel 9 Pro) and need some help here as a Windows 10 users.
I have a large collection of videos and music on my PC that I need to transfer to my Google Pixel phone. I'm searching for a simple and safe method to transfer files from PC to Google Pixel. I've tried a few ways but encountered issues with file formats, transfer speed, or storage limitations on the phone.
I heard of using USB cables, Google Drive, and third-party apps, but I'm unsure of the most efficient way for bulk transfers. Ideally, I'd prefer something that doesn't require too many manual steps or complex setups.
P.S. How much times it takes for transferring more 30 GB of media files from Windows PC to smartphone?

The two methods mentioned are pretty decent for transferring files from a PC to a Google Pixel phone, but they're not without their drawbacks. Let me share my own experience and some disadvantages of these methods. While I love the convenience of Google Drive, there are a few things to consider when using this method:
- Internet Connection: You need a stable internet connection to upload files to Google Drive. If you have a slow upload speed or an unstable internet connection, it may take a while to upload large files.
- Cloud storage limits: While Google Drive offers 15 GB of free storage, you may run out of space if you are transferring a lot of files or large files. You will need to upgrade to a paid plan or delete some files to make space.
Using Android File Transfer is quick and doesn't require an internet connection, there are some potential drawbacks:
- USB connection issues: If you have issues with your USB connection or cable, trying to transfer files can be frustrating.
- File Explorer limitations: Windows File Explorer can be a bit clunky when it comes to transferring files to your Android device. You may need to navigate through multiple folders or rename files to transfer them correctly.
- No file previews: When transferring files using MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), you won't be able to preview files on your PC before transferring files from PC to Google Pixel phone.
To transfer files from PC to Google Pixel phone. Apps like Xender, SHAREit, or Files by Google can help you transfer files wirelessly between devices. These apps often offer faster transfer speeds than a USB connection and are more convenient. If you're using a Windows PC, consider buying a USB-C hub or adapter that supports file transfer. This can help you avoid MTP issues and transfer files more easily. Before transferring files, make sure Android File Transfer is enabled on your Pixel phone. This can help you troubleshoot connection issues.

The official Android File Transfer app is no longer valid option for Windows users. It is a utility that was commonly used to transfer files between Macs and Android phones over USB. However, it has been largely phased out and is no longer the primary solution for transferring files between Android devices and Macs.
Google no longer actively supports or updates the Android File Transfer app. Users have reported occasional issues with compatibility and functionality, especially with newer versions of macOS and Android devices.
By the way, Android has improved its compatibility with Windows 11 and Windows 10 OS, meaning that users can often directly transfer files from PC to Google Pixel phone without the need for additional software. Once you connect the phone via USB, you should be able to access files through the Windows Explorer or using a file management application, much like how you would on a Windows PC.

If you want something a little different when transferring files from PC to Google Pixel phone, you can try apps like Pushbullet or AirDroid. They allow you to transfer files from PC to Google Pixel which I find very convenient. Simply install the app on your PC and Google Pixel, and you can transfer content wirelessly.
And If you’re dealing mainly with photos and videos, Google Photos is your best bud.
Step 1: Upload your photos and videos to Google Photos using the web version on your PC.
Step 2: Open the Google Photos app on your Pixel, and you’ll get all your media there ready to go.This is how I manage my photo library. I can access my precious memories from any device! I have used all of these methods in my life, and really, it depends on which method you feel most comfortable with. Using Google Drive for file sharing is great if you're not worried about storage space. For quick and easy transfers, I would opt for the USB method. Keep in mind that with Google products, you'll need a Google account to use Drive and Photos, but if you're already using a Pixel, you probably already have those features.

In short, USB cable. It is one of the simplest and most reliable methods. It allows for direct file transfers without the need for an internet connection or third-party apps. This method is particularly useful if you have a large collection of videos and music, as it avoids potential issues with cloud storage limits or internet speed.
1. Use a USB cable (the one that came with your phone or any compatible cable) to connect your Google Pixel phone to your PC.
2. Once connected, you should see a notification on your phone asking if you want to allow file transfers. Tap on Allow or File Transfer to enable this mode.
3. On your PC, open This PC (or My Computer on older versions of Windows). Your Google Pixel phone should now appear as a device listed under Devices and Drives. Double-click on your phone’s icon to open it and see its internal storage.
4. On your PC, navigate to the folder containing the videos and music files you want to transfer. Select the files or folders, then drag and drop them into the appropriate folder on your Pixel phone’s storage. Depending on the size of the files, the transfer process may take a few minutes. Larger collections could take longer.
It is is generally faster than using cloud storage to transfer files from Windows PC to a Google Pixel phone using a USB cable , especially for large files like videos and music. It's a great option if you don’t want to rely on internet speed or cloud storage limits.
