Drifting mouse/Trackpoint option greyed out
For context: For several months now, my mouse has been drifting erratically daily. It can drift in one direction at a time, and change the drifting direction every day. I have tried everything i can find on the internet in relation to software, but nothing works, e.g. reinstall the driver, disconnecting all IO, ......
Now i suspect that the trackpoint is the culprit, and i tried disable it via Mouse Properties and Bios.
Everything I tried so far does not work to disable the trackpoint in term of software.
Now i want to disable the trackpoint by means of disconnecting it hardware, without affecting the trackpad. If you guys know how to do it, please let me know. If the trackpad has to be disable together, please also let me know.
Thanks a lot in advance !!!

The most common reason for a greyed-out option is that the device is disabled at the hardware level. Restart your computer, enter the BIOS (usually by pressing F1, F2, or Del), look for Config or Keyboard/Mouse settings, and ensure TrackPoint is set to Enabled or Automatic.
