An update starts exactly when i need to use the computer
Windows insists on starting mandatory updates precisely at the moment I power on my computer for urgent work, forcing me to wait through lengthy installation cycles. The update process consumes significant system resources and often requires multiple restarts, which severely disrupts my workflow during critical deadlines.

You want Windows patched without an update taking over when urgent work begins. Set accurate active hours under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Change active hours, covering the period when the PC is normally used. After updates download, open Restart options and choose a specific restart time instead of waiting for Windows to select one. Keep the computer powered on outside active hours so installation can finish before the next work session. If these controls are unavailable or revert, the device is probably managed and Windows Update for Business or Group Policy controls the schedule; ask the administrator to review restart deadlines and notifications. The attached image only shows an empty C:\Windows\Temp folder, so it does not identify the update or prove that folder is responsible. Record the update’s KB number and any displayed restart deadline before investigating further.
