Viva Learning and Copilot Academy still supported and worked on?

We just started with our Copilot Rollout and looked at Viva Learning as a central hub for our own content and the use of the Microsoft Copilot Academy content. We set up our SharePoint repository with all the metadata tags, got used to the very slow indexing/importing/displaying of new content that we add to that repository and for sure see potential to use this in the future... but I get the feeling that this product might be on it's last breath here and there?

While the logs show that one object gets synced fine - we deleted another object on friday - the frontend still lists the old content too. It's been more than three days. Feels weird.

The Microsoft Copilot Academy, while on first look is great that it's available (even tough the translated versions are rough sometimes) a lot of sub-content seem to be missing or not available anmore and are still linked to. So we see a lot of "The element could not be loaded because it is inactive or has been deleted.". Feels weird.

The activity here in the forums, most of discussions from 2025. Also... weird.

So what's the vibe here? Should I look around for alternatives or is Microsoft still working and supporting on i in the near future? And how can we get a cleaned up Copilot Academy or at least a frontend that shows the actual state of the sync process?

Cheers!

  • The three-day delay for your deleted SharePoint item is longer than Microsoft’s documented approximately 24-hour removal interval. Treat that as a synchronization problem to investigate, rather than evidence that the product has been abandoned.

In Viva Learning’s Admin tab, open the SharePoint provider and export its logs. Check Sync summary and failed-object details against the exact deleted item and repository URL; a different object synchronizing successfully does not confirm that deletion was processed. Include the deletion time, last sync time and affected content identifier when escalating.

For Copilot Academy, verify users can access its AI and Copilot Resources, Microsoft 365 Training and Microsoft Learn providers. Capture broken learning-path links separately from your own SharePoint ingestion issue. Administrators with the required Viva license can duplicate and customize an academy, but that does not repair Microsoft-curated source links. Current documentation describes these features; it cannot guarantee future investment or release dates.
