Data Retention for Former Employees
This setting determines what happens to a deleted user’s survey data, so the right choice should follow your organization’s privacy and reporting requirements rather than another tenant’s convention. When retention is on, survey responses and identifiable attributes remain. When it is off, Glint removes both after the soft-delete period; that can affect historical trends, exports, and investigations. The setting is platform-wide, changes are not retrospective, and permanent deletion cannot be undone. Before changing it, have your privacy, legal, HR, security, and records teams agree on the purpose, lawful basis, minimum retention period, subject-request process, and who may access identifiable results. Map deletion sources, including Microsoft Entra ID, and test the leaver workflow with a non-production identity. Document the decision and update employee notices. Also review Microsoft’s notice about paused processing of Entra deletion signals through September 30, 2026, and use the documented manual deletion process for time-sensitive requests.
