HP Pinter Wi-Fi Connectivity problems

I bought a new HP DeskJet 2700, and I am trying to connect my printer to the Wi-Fi. My network is working fine, yet the printer is unable to detect it and keeps showing offline. Is there anything that I am missing while doing the wireless setup?

    Hi,

If your HP DeskJet 2700 isn't detecting your Wi-Fi network, it's usually one of these issues:

    • Make sure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, as the DeskJet 2700 doesn't support connecting to 5 GHz-only networks.
    • Restart both the printer and your router, then try the setup again.
    • Reset the printer's wireless settings by pressing and holding the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for about 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
    • During setup, ensure your phone or computer is connected to the same 2.4 GHz network.

If the printer still can't find your Wi-Fi network, let us know:

    • Is your router dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)?
    • Does the printer detect other Wi-Fi networks?
    • Are any lights blinking on the printer?

That information will help narrow down the cause.

This happens a lot with the HP DeskJet 2700. Make sure the printer is actually in Wi-Fi setup mode, the blue light should be blinking (hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons together for a few seconds to reset it). Also remember it only works with a 2.4GHz network, so if your router is on 5GHz only, it won’t show up. It’s best to connect it using the HP Smart app and keep the printer close to the router during setup. A quick restart of both the router and printer can also clear the “offline” issue.

This may be stating the obvious, but, the group you posted your issue to is for MS Universal Print; the issue your describing sounds like a basic connectivity issues that perhaps might be better addressed/resolved in the https://h30434.www3.hp.com/
