How to Enable Support for Bots in Shared Channels in Microsoft Teams?

Hi all,

I’ve followed all the steps outlined in the documentation to enable support for my bot in shared channels within Microsoft Teams. However, despite completing the setup, I am unable to add the bot to any shared channel.

I’ve come across some discussions in this forum that suggest this functionality might not be available for all developers. Could someone confirm if this is the case, and if so, how can I request access or enable this feature for my bot?

I would appreciate any guidance or steps on how to resolve this issue.

    According to this official documentation, Bots aren't supported in shared channels.

    Please note that, support for bots in shared channels is not yet released to external developers.

      Thank you for your quick response.

      I've noticed that several apps support shared channels, and I came across a section in the documentation detailing how to enable shared channel support for bots here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/build-and-test/shared-channels#enable-your-app-for-shared-channels.

      While I understand this feature is not publicly available, the apps I’ve seen that support shared channels are not developed by Microsoft. This suggests there may be a way to apply for access to enable shared channels for our app.

      Having access to shared channels is crucial for the proper functioning of our app, as it directly impacts core features.
