Surface Laptop 4 shut down and was warm to touch
My new (MS refurbished) SurfaceLaptop 4 just quit working today. I had been using it and left for about an hour and when I came back, unit appeared to be shut down or asleep and would not respond to any inputs. The only indication that it was powered up was that the light on the fn key would light when you hit the fn key. The unit was quite warm to touch and the MS charger was plugged in with battery at 100% when I left machine. Upon contacting MS chat they only offered one help, but then gave me phone numbers to call. Anyway they asked me to press the power button and hold for 30 seconds which I had not tried before. This started the machine up and it has worked since. But when it started up I had unplugged the charger when I first found it not working and the battery level was at 24% and this was just about an hour since it was 100%. But now everything seems to be working again. But quite leary of leaving it on.
Don't really trust it at the moment - won't leave it on and walk away from it for sure as it was quite hot when it stopped working.

- Spent an hour or so yesterday on phone with a Microsoft service tech. They had me enter a long string of inputs for system to check and then computer found a problem, but said it was repairable. So then they read off another string of inputs to enter and tell system to fix the problem. response was that problem was fixed and ok. 24 hours now without reoccurrence.
- This didn't fix the problem. 49 hours later it did it again. Just went to sleep while idle and would only restart with the 30 second push of the power key. My wife has a new cheap Gateway laptop that never does this. And my MS one does it at will.
