Surface laptop 4 install windows keyboard and mouse not working

Hi, the keyboard and mouse are not working when installing windows. Had to use usb devices to install. Why is it so unfriendly? Any alternatives to usb mouse / keyboard? No such issue when installing windows on surface pro 7.

      How did you install Windows? Did you use the Microsoft surface recovery image and follow the instruction on how to make a bootable usb? If you enter the model and serial number you will get a specific image tailored for your device which when I have used usually removes any software glitches. Let me know if you need help but you should try this and see how your device performs.
