Will SharePoint Online Classic Team Site Content Editor WebPart Discontinued?
Hello All,
Microsoft has announced some of the features will be discontinued in the future. Below is one of the example
I have created a SharePoint online classic team site. I have created many subsites under that team site.
I have added a content editor web part in all of those sites for customization.
I have tried to check if the classic will discontinued or not. So, I found " We're not deprecating the "classic" experience; both "classic" and "modern" will coexist." from Microsoft's Official site.
Please click here to check the official link from Microsoft.
Do I need to change everything to a modern experience or does Microsoft keep the classic experience and the Content Editor web part for SharePoint online?
Thanks
- Hi,
At some point classic experience and all the related features are going to be discontinued. There are not official announcements on when this is going to happen, but it will- BhoomeshJoshiCopper Contributor@Jean - Thanks for the quick response. I heard that. But there is no official announcement from Microsoft. So, I have posted it here.
- VictaulicKatKCopper Contributorit appears this is now causing any classic pages that have content editors on them to no longer be editable. Something as simple as updating a text web part in a classic page is no longer possible with this update.

VictaulicKatK Did you contact Microsoft on trying to get this resolved or received any word from them? We're having the same issues.

I was about to but was able to re-enable custom scripting in central admin for specific active sites and also found this article below.
This enabled me to edit text web parts again after manually allowing it again for the site collection through central admin active sites settings but it appears to only be a temp solution for quick changes as it changes back within 24 hours
