Which SharePoint security groups we should use inside our /sites/pws/ site
I have accessed the /sites/PWA/ sharepoint site, and i can see the following security groups:-
so seems granting a user Contribute on the site, can be done through many SP security groups. so can anyone advice what are the main differences between the SP security groups which have Contribute?

There isn't any difference here as to the difference, it is more about where those groups are used in the rest of the SharePoint site, as per the names of the groups you should add the users in the correct roles.
