Where is the Communications Site Template?
I have been looking for the Communications Site template and cannot seem to find it. Does it need to be added problematically or do I need to activate it somewhere in the Admin area? Ultimately I want to create a Hub site and associate Communication Site Collections to the Hub site.

or append your root Sharepoint URL with below “/_layouts/15/CreateGroup.aspx" and you should be able to create communication site.

- Hi Christopher, All you should need to do is click Create Site and the template should be displayed. If this is missing you need to raise a support ticket. For a Hub Site you do need to activate this feature programatically. You can find the relevant PowerShell commands here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/features/hub-site/create-hub-site-with-powershell. Hope this helps
- I applied the hub site to a Communications Site and verified that it was a hub site by Get-SPOHubSite, but there seems to be no Hub Navigation. Also, do you know if we can apply the Communications template to a Site Collection that already exists? The solution above has it creating a site, not a site collection.
- You cannot apply a "communication site template" to an existing site...Microsoft has never provided this feature and I doubt is going to provided it. What you can do is extend your existing sites using PnP so potentially you could have same features you have in a communication site
- Thanks for the reply. I will take your advise on the support ticket. Although SPO Admin gave the quick solution, I am sure others will be asking the same question if the template is not listed.
