What Happened To The "Discard Changes" Option When Editing SharePoint Site Pages???
I have access to several tenants - both on Targeted Release for SharePoint online. One tenant shows the discard changes option when editing a SharePoint site page. The other does not...the only options are undo, save/close, and republish. I am global admin on both tenants...what's up with that???
- TeddyCopper ContributorIt just disappeared for us too. Was there earlier this week, but now it's gone!
- pnthrzruleIron ContributorI found the answer....our tenants have been updated with the new co-authoring feature for pages. This apparently renders the discard changes button useless...therefore it is gone and isn't coming back. You will have to use the undo button! yay

Undo
To undo changes, authors can use Undo to undo the most recent changes by the current user in the current browser session. To undo more changes or changes made by other users, authors can restore a prior version from Version History
Note: The Discard changes command has been removed as it is no longer needed. Authors can use Undo and Version History to revert to a previous version.- davidbardsleyCopper Contributor
pnthrzrule You can get back the "Discard changes" option by going to the Site Pages settings and then click on the "Versioning Settings" option and then select YES for "Require Check Out". Then select "Create major versions" for the Document Version History and then set Version count limit to 5000. The only side affect I found is associated with News items. My SPFx code invokes CreatePageFromTemplate.aspx and the page is not properly checked out and it will fail with an error. I am currently looking into a solution.
