Web Part Search Box - Never seen it work.

Question

I really like the idea of&nbsp;the "search box" feature on a web part. the ability to search a single list on a web page is a great tool.&nbsp;however, i have never seen it work. always returns zero results.&nbsp;on-prem, online, and in every environment I have access to.&nbsp;at this point I assume it must be something I am doing wrong. any troubleshooting tips?

Mmm...you need to add also the search results webpart in the page

Very strange and weird, it should work OnPremise and Online like a charm

Juan is right but are you using correct result page and if you configure the search box does it show results. and just to be sure are you entering with a internal account?&nbsp;kr,&nbsp;Paul

Maybe I am not configuring it correctly. All I have done is check the "Display search box" under "Miscellaneous" in the web part properties. The search results look like they would appear in the web part, which is my hope. Just never any results. :(

All other search features work great.
