Using a checkbox to show or hide a calendar overlay

I have a sharepoint online calendar that shows exhibits from 4 different locations. I have created 4 color coded overlays for each exhibit space. Is it possible to allow the end user to turn on/off the different overlays using checkboxes? Or must I create separate calendars for each space?

    I have created calendar overlays where each overlay is a different filtered view on the same calendar. Would that get you to where you want to go?

      I have setup the overlays as different views but this is only functional in the all events view. If I click on one of the other overlays, I have no easy way of getting back to the other views.
