Update existing root team site to Communication site
Hi,
This topic was discussed here few times but possible workarounds seems to be blocked by Microsoft now. So, I have simple question. How can I apply “Communication site” template to existing team site in my root site collection? I can create new “Communication site” in my tenant without a problem.
We are after the Ignite and I saw a lot great features in terms of look and feel, but I didn’t find out solution for this case which could be often.
Any updates?

- Basically the idea / concept of applying existing Microsoft site templates into an existing site has never been possible and same happens if you want to apply Communication site template to an existing SPO site...what you can do however is use PnP staff to extract the definition of an existing site and apply part of this template to your existing site
