Unable to remove custom permission level on site collection

Absolutely weir, you should be able to delete your custom permission level...have you also reviewed if the permission level is being used at the different site scopes you have (Site, List / Document Library, Document / Item?
- I checked and I couldn't find anthing using this group.
I also remove all files/folders with unique permissions on this site collection but I still can't remove this permission level. Even if permission level is being used you should still be able to delete it. It'll remove the associated groups and users with permission level from sites or libraries. May be you should try using powershell.
- Yes, I found a way to delete that permission level with PowerShell. But it would've been nice to have learned what could've caused this. Thanks.
