Unable to open word document from SharePoint Online

Hi,

One of my colleagues as reported they are unable to open a Word document for editing either in the App version or Web version.

They have the correct permissions, and they created the document.  They were able to open a previous version, but this was a very old version so information missing.  Think they have saved this version to a folder of there's.
