Trying to move a term between term sets, but the term does not follow in document library?
Hi
I use managed metadata to tag documents in a document library.
I want to move a term between two term sets. However, the term does not follow the move in my document library.
At first, I thought that Timer job took longer than expected, but now it has been over 24 hours.
In the current columns, I've also changed "Require that this column contains information" to NO, which I suspected was the error, but it still does not work.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm not completely sure I understand your question and your expected behavior here. When moving a term to another term set, your content won't be updated for you. You'll find that after you've moved your term to another term set you won't be able to select it anymore when editing the item or document in the Managed Metadata field bound to your Term Set. You also won't be able to save the item with the "Moved" value. Instead you'll be able to select the term in the other Managed Metadata field associated to the Term Set where you moved your Term to.

My idea was to rearrange my document library with more columns with more specific content. I felt that my existing columns contained too many levels of term children.
Ok, I think I misunderstood a "detail" using term sets. I thought I needed to create a term set for each column in my document library. But that's not the case, I can choose specific parts of a term set for each column.
Ouch, this will take some time to correct for each item...
