top link navigation sublinks

Good Day

With SharePoint Communication Sites we have an enhanced top link bar navigation that allow us in adding sublinks, achieving a drop down navigation behavior.  However, it seems this same behavior is not possible with Modern Team sites or Classic Team Sites that may leverage a modern page as the home page of the site.  Is there a way we could mirror that same drop down link/navigation we get in Communication Sites? Thanks!

  • Not sure if Megamenu will work on non comm sites yet or not, haven't seen it in action. But they are working on moving the quick links from left to top or off in the future as a site option. They showed it at SPC on the roadmap and I want to say they were shoulding for this quarter or H1. Hopefully sooner than later because I see this request so often about using the same navigation and top link as a comm site.
  • I think the only way to have the same navigation experience in modern sites, no matter if you are using a communication site tempalte or a modern team site one, is by means of a custom SPFx extension or wait until the megamenu is finally rolled out...for classic experiences, you will need to "duplicate" your custom dev
