This site has unique permissions. To share the site, please visit Advanced permissions settings.
When I click on Share in SharePoint Online site it gives me the message "This site has unique permissions. To share the site, please visit Advanced permissions settings.".
I am unable to find how does this get enabled? Can anyone let me know how to enable & disable this.

Shahbaz1100 click the gear icon in the top right of the site and in the menu click on Site permissions. In the panel appears click advanced permission settings. That will take you to a new screen where you can add & remove users from the different permission groups and set permissions for what the different groups can do.

I am in a similar situation. I know I can go to advanced permissions and share the site from there, but why isn't it possible to share the site using the 'Share' button? In my case, I can share the site from the site's landing page using the 'share' button at the top right of the window, but if I go into documents, and then try and use the 'share site' button, the share button is greyed out and I get the same message as the OP. This is happening on every documents site I've created (I'm the SharePoint admin). This also happens on newly created sites.
- Aftab AhmadCopper ContributorThere must exist following SharePoint groups with exact names.
[Site Name] Owners
[Site Name] Members
[Site Name] Visitors
Set default groups from UI: You can set the default group page from SharePoint UI by navigating to: https://your-sharepoint-site.com/_layouts/permsetup.aspx . Enter group details and hit “Save”.
