It was a Microsoft issue affecting certain geographies and user groups. Once I checked the service status page, it took a while to find the exact issue. It was fixed one day later and I haven't had any problems since.

Thanks for your quick reply.
In the end, we made a similar experience. Our problems were caused by a "recent traffic routing update." Unfortunately, it took Microsoft some days to resolve the issue.
